César Manrique was a painter, sculptor and artist from the island of Lanzarote who combined his work with the environmental values of the Canary Islands.
He searched for harmony between art and nature and was awarded the World Prize for Ecology and Tourism and the Europe Award. Many of Manrique’s masterpieces can be viewed on the island today.
